**About the Company**:
Buy It Direct (BID) is a market leading ecommerce retailer based in Huddersfield with warehouses located in Huddersfield and Castle Donington.
Due to expansion of the business we're now looking to recruit an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the team in Huddersfield and support our additional sites.
We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our buildings, grounds, and infrastructures. As a Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities are properly maintained, clean, and safe. You will manage a team of internal maintenance staff, coordinate with external contractors, and develop strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the facilities/internal maintenance team, including task assignment, staff supervision, and performance management.
- Take ownership of all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) services for our sites.
- Coordinate and ensure timely and cost-effective completion of reactive maintenance tasks across the sites.
- Consult with stakeholders to understand their needs and discuss required work.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of equipment and service agreements to facilitate proper repair and maintenance processes.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, health and security standards, and promote a safe working environment.
- Oversee minor facilities projects and associated remedial works.
- Develop building plans to enhance staff efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure timely procurement of required parts to facilitate on-time and complete job completion.
- Plan and manage an effective estate-wide waste management and recycling solution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of facilities management.
- Generate and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).

- Excellent communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from various departments and external contractors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Commercially astute able to deliver projects within budget using in-house skills where possible.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good decision-making skills, with the flexibility to reprioritise tasks and break-fix jobs as needed.
- Experience in supervising teams and managing projects.
- Strong team player with a can-do attitude.
- Commercial awareness and capital expenditure (CapEx) experience.
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to handle a complex and varied workload.
- Proficient in generating and analysing reports based on set KPIs.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Proven experience in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance practices, health, and safety regulations, and building codes.
- Proficiency in using facilities management software and tools.
