In House Advocate

We are working with Bolton Council to find an In-House Advocate on a temporary basis.
Umbrella pay rate: £30 per hour.
Length of role: Initial 2 months
**About the role**:
Providing expert legal advice, advocacy services and legal representation to client departments, to support the delivery of the Council’s statutory duties.
**Key Duties**:
- Advocating for Child Care team.
- Undertaking advocacy for colleagues to include initial hearings.
- Completing case management hearings.
Mentoring of Staff.
- Providing quality legal representation and advocacy within all courts.
- Supplying expert legal advice to officers and elected members
- Researching and analysing information to evaluate evidence.
- Drafting legal documentation including statements of case.
**Experiences required**:
- Knowledge of local government law with a particular emphasis on employment law, local government prosecutions, civil claims, judicial review, private and public Children Act. proceedings, education law and adult social care.
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister demonstrating appropriate CPD.
- Significant practical experience of advocacy in the County Court, High Court and Family Proceedings Court, including contested hearings.
