The salary for this role is set at £46,600 - £69,300

**About the role**

A key role within our People Strategy and Planning Team working in the areas of Risk and Financial Management. You will be supporting the Risk and Finance Manager to develop our assurance frameworks and manage the wider financial pictures within our People Function.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work with stakeholders at all levels across the People sphere as well as more widely in the Partnership and would have a broad remit to develop our key risk identification, measurements and monitoring alongside your People Manager and other specialists. Over the coming year we have exciting plans to really develop our capability in these areas and this role will be instrumental in building the future Risk and Finance approaches for our Function. This is a priority for us and the role will have significant profile and access to senior stakeholders.

You would be joining a friendly and professional team of experts as part of the wider Strategy and Planning Team. We work at the very centre of the People Function providing expertise and guidance to a range of stakeholders. While we pride ourselves on being technically strong in our areas of expertise, we are particularly focused on how we build relationships and influence within the wider People Function and Partnership. This role would suit someone who enjoys the reward of knowing that they will be involved in some of the most important and sometimes sensitive activities we deliver and thrives on building strong, trusting relationships.

As our Risk and Finance Consultant you will be at the heart of key work in the People Function. This will involve:

- Developing our Risk management approaches and the tools and measurements we can use to assure our position and gain buy-in from Risk owners to manage and develop their areas of responsibility.
- Supporting the Risk and Finance Manager to monitor and enhance our Financial and budget management approaches and work with stakeholders to ensure that we have up to date, accurate and actionable intelligence in this area
- Working with other Risk SME’s to ensure that the People Function is up to date and proactively driving risk best practice throughout the teams
- Provide advice and guidance to People Teams on Risk and Budget management and enhancements

**Essential Skills**
- Experience of working with Risk frameworks and associated reporting
- Competence managing data and comfort developing and interpreting financial information
- The ability to present complex information in a simple way
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including influencing
- Demonstrable skills in critical thinking (challenging and interpreting complex information)
- Prioritisation skills - the ability to determine urgent and important tasks and manage accordingly

**Desirable Skills**
- Collaborative working
- Good networking skills
- Experience contributing to Business Cases
- Experience of Partnership Governance processes
- Experience with profit & loss accounts / Finance
