Night Shift Butchers Assistant

**This is a rolling 1 month contract with the possibility of a permanent position at the end of the fixed term. Hours are Sunday to Friday (6 Nights) 10pm - 5am - 40 hours per week.**

The role of the Butchers Assistant is to ensure the efficient, effective and smooth operation of butchery department by supporting the departments personnel with general operational tasks. The objective of this role is to keep the butchers within the department focusing on their core roles of preparing and completing customer orders through removing non-productive activities. The main tasks will include, but not be limited to:

- Taking out product from the fridges/freezers in the morning based on the requirements of the butchers for preparing customer orders and stock
- Placing stock of products back into the fridges and freezers in the correct locations once completed by the butchers
- Weighing and labelling products ready for order fulfilment and dispatch
- Removal of waste products such as boxes, packaging etc from operational area and placing them into the waste areas / bins as required
- Keeping the butcher department clean and tidy during operational hours to ensure a safe, tidy and efficient working space
- Basic butchery tasks during busy times to support butchers and operational efficiency including using Dicing and Mincing machinery
- Keeping fridges and freezers in an orderly manner to ensure the fast and efficient location of products
- Checking the dates of stock and reporting any shorts dates or out of date products to the Production Team Leader

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 1 month

**Salary**: £500.00 per week
