In this role, you will work as part of the CAMHS Children in Care Team which is a multi-Disciplinary team within comprehensive CAMHS. You will provide direct mental health treatment interventions to children and young people in care, with a specific remitto support foster carers within Plymouth Local Authority. This role includes consultation and advice to Foster Carers with additional direct clinical work with children/young people and their carers. The post holder's caseload will be children and young peoplewho are in care, who may need intensive support to minimise deterioration and improve outcomes for mental health.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- The post holder will work as part of the CAMHS Children in Care Team which is a Multi-Disciplinary team within comprehensive CAMHS. The post holder will provide direct mental health treatment interventions to children and young people in care, with a specificremit to support Foster carers within Plymouth Local Authority.
- The Mental Health Practitioners (MHP) will be supported by a CAMHS Senior Practitioner to develop the ability to provide specialist and autonomous, culturally competent mental health assessment, formulation of and implementation of specific care plans andreview for children and young people and their families/carers following a request for involvement.
- The post holder's caseload will be children and young people who are in care, who may need intensive support to minimise deterioration and improve outcomes for mental health. A large proportion of the role is with the system around the child or young person.
- The MHP is required to maintain high effective standards in the recording of clinical observations and actions, risk and risk management including child protection in health records.
- Have a professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy and have a current registration with the appropriate registration body (Nursing and Midwifery Council, Social Work England or Health and Care Professions Council).
- It is essential to have suitable experience in CAMHS and to have undertaken assessments and worked with therapeutic intervention.
