Team Leader Mental Health

**Responsible to**: Service Manager at Supported Living Services

**Location**:Working across four communities within boroughs of Richmond, Kingston and Ealing.

**Salary**: £33,500 per annum

Brief description of job:
A Team Leader is responsible for the general supervision of the direct therapeutic provision of a team of Therapeutic Practitioners and Senior Therapeutic Practitioners to ensure that our model is implemented and followed by community members, residents, and staff alike. A Team Leader takes responsibility for the daily direction of the therapeutic programme. Mentoring, supervising, coaching, and assessing Therapeutic Practitioners and Senior Therapeutic Practitioners’ practice is the primary focus of this role. You will be proactive in ensuring that quality service is available to all residents through the direct monitoring and influencing of staff performance and by acting as an excellent role model.

There are two aspects of the role of Team Leader, as a direct support role to people who use our services and a leadership role to the staff team.

Main responsibilities, tasks and duties:
**Leadership**
- Provide daily leadership to the team.
- Assisting Service Manager with the daily operation of the service.
- Manage rotas daily.
- Lead the shift, ensuring staff give support that follows individual resident’s Treatment Plan and CHT model.
- Provide effective supervision to the Therapeutic Practitioners and Senior Therapeutic Practitioners.
- Provide on call support as a part of on call support of CHT within a team of on call managers.
- Ensure good team working.
- Motivate, support and mentor the staff when needed.
- At each shift ensure that staff complete all necessary paperwork to an acceptable standard to sign off.
- To attend and contribute to all training programmes relevant to your role and ensure that you promote the importance of training to all your staff.
- To pro-actively monitor and address staff absence and attendance concerns, assisting the Service Manager with actively addressing any attendance targets set and effecting timely procedural reviews.
- To manage all aspect of running of the service in absence of the Service Manager with support of the Senior Team.

**Therapeutic Practice**
- To participate in ensuring that the service runs in adherence to CHT’s model of service delivery.
- To participate in all areas of community life, supporting residents both practically and emotionally in informal and formal settings and acting as a role model for Therapeutic Practitioners and Senior Therapeutic Practitioners.
- Support residents by following individual Treatment Plans, Risk Management Plans and CHT model.
- Develop good working relationships with residents, team members, families and involved professionals.
- To enable community members (staff and residents) to embrace and implement CHT therapeutic model on a daily basis, including therapeutic community values, Psychologically Informed Environment’s principles and CHT policies.
- To promote high levels of resident participation in service development and implementation.
- Contribute to / attend reviews and multi-disciplinary meetings.
- To participate in formal reflective practice sessions.
- To administer and support residents with their medication in line with CHT’s procedures.
- To keep in mind the aspects of Safeguarding and work with an understanding of Mental Capacity and Dignity in line with CHT’s core framework.
- To promote equality and diversity in their practice.

**Administration**
- To take the lead in co-ordinating everyday administrative duties including writing up handovers, completing medication records, and various residents focused reports
