Perioperative Support Worker
The post holder will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the Hull Royal Infirmary operating Department.
You will assist the registered Theatre/Perioperative Team in the delivery of direct patient care, in either anaesthetics, surgery or PACU.
You will be required to support and work alongside the Theatre Recovery team and also provide support to the Theatre Reception.
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and highly motivated support workers.
You will be expected to work in the Theatre reception.
You will be expected to assist the Theatre procurement team placing on line orders and putting away deliveries, helping with stock takes and stock rotation.
As well as supporting the Main Theatre and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU), the post holder may also be required to work in the Day Surgery Unit at HRI & Gynae/Obstetric Theatres.
The HRI Main Theatre Department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, so a flexible attitude to all shift patterns is essential to meet the ever changing needs of the service.
We are a multi-disciplinary department. This consists of Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs), Nurses, Radiographers, Surgeons, Anaethetsists and Peri-Operative Support Workers.
We have 9 Theatres in the HRI main tower block, and 2 Neurosurgical Theatres and in each theatre we have a team of staff working together to care for the patients. We also operate in the Interventional Radiology Department, Day Surgery, and the Family & Womens Hospital.
HUTH is part of one of the largest acute and community Group arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.
Made up of two Trusts - Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) - our Group has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.
Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites, are Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH and Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLaG.
As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.
We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Group and our community.
Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role
