**Location**: Headquarters Northallerton. You will be expected to cover the North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Estates, being primarily North Yorkshire and the City of York working in an agilely manner across operational facilities with the opportunity for hybrid working.

**Salary**: Grade 12-13.1 £41,496 - £44,539

**Contract**: Permanent

**Hours**: Full time, 37 hours per week - permanent role

We have an opportunity for a Surveyor to join the Estates team where you will assist the Senior Estates Officer with the delivery of the Estates Strategy and effectively contribute to the ongoing improvement of the estate portfolio and facilities of the Office of Police Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC), North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (NYFRS) and North Yorkshire Police (NYP).

The Estates and Sustainability Team is one of three departments within the Assets Function supporting the overall enableNY delivery model. The team is key in shaping and delivering a service offering, by providing expert advice, technical support, and administration services on the full range of estates management matters whilst ensuring regulatory and legal compliance for the delivery of our services.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Operate as one of the key connections between the Estates Department, stakeholders, external contractors, agencies and consultants, and other OPFCC, NYFRS and NYP service units.
- Project manage building related capital contracts from feasibility to completion.
- Ensure that all services are obtained on cost-effective terms and appropriate to the needs of the combined services and are appropriate in relation to professional standards, and that they are managed within budget and financial compliance.
- Ensure that environmental issues, conversation of energy and water, health and safety, quality and value for money issues are considered in the management and development of the estate.
- Undertake risk assessments and evaluate risk assessments submitted by others.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the AMT team to ensure the AMT business plan is delivered and that services are delivered through best practice effectively and efficiently and without duplication.
- Ensure that the service is delivered in compliance with financial regulations, planning and building regulations and legislation relating to estate matters.
- Provide a continual review of works undertaken (either through the delivery of the Capital Programme and Strategy or through the development of an annual Schedule of Planned Maintenance, Service Contracts and minor improvement works).
- To represent the combined services at site meetings, ensuring the interests of the forces are represented and being an ambassador for the forces at the same time.

**Requirements**:
To be successful you will:

- Provide a high level of service by combining your professional knowledge and insight, with personal credibility and talent.
- Have a real strength in networking, influencing, and negotiating.
- Have a passion for communicating with a range of diverse customers across a variety of platforms and enjoy building and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Have demonstrable experience of budget management and budget control.
- Have demonstrable experience within the building industry with either a trade background reinforced with site management experience or a clerk of works / surveying background.
- Have experience of capital development / measured term maintenance contracts.
- Be able to prioritise your own work to meet tight deadlines.
- Be talented in using various IT systems including Microsoft Office.
- Have a high level of attention to detail and be comfortable with producing and presenting accurate data and information.

Ideally you will have full membership of the institute of Clerk of Works, Technical

memberships of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or a member of Chartered

Institute of Building or Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management, but demonstrable

equivalent experience would be acceptable. This role will be a combination of Reactive and Combination works driven.
