**SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNER**

A highly successful and very well-established têxtiles group with sites across the North of England are looking to appoint an experienced Supply Chain Planner to join their purchasing team within their head office in North Manchester.

**THE JOB**:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager as Supply Chain Planner you will be responsible for the forecasting, ordering, shipping and stock management of a portfolio of products and suppliers to ensure customer demand can be met working within company budgetsand stock targets.

**Based in the office Monday-Friday, as Supply Chain Planner your role will include**:

- Setting up and maintaining min/max stock levels and review slow moving/excess/obsolete stock to identify products for clearance
- Managing promotional stocks lists ensuring data is up to date
- Placing bulk orders with suppliers and issuing regular call-offs
- The management of the stock take process with external suppliers
- Managing and monitoring the movement of stock between suppliers and ensuring sufficient stocks are available to meet forecast demands
- Expediting orders with suppliers
- Following up any relevant sampling/testing requirements from suppliers
- Following up production with the supplier and arranging the shipment of goods to meet the Critical path deadlines
- Completing Import Duty/Freight calculations ensuring the costs are accurate
- Obtaining costs for any airfreight shipments and obtaining the relevant authorisation
- Managing container deliveries in line with warehouse capacity
- Arranging and managing the shipment of goods from various suppliers
- Raising purchase orders and raising debit notes as required
- Liaising with the Far East office to support day to day activities
- Liaising with suppliers regarding quality issues until resolved
- Ensuring packing specifications are set-up and issued to suppliers
- Raising and resolving claims with relevant suppliers and issuing debit notes accordingly
- Occasional travel to meet suppliers

**THE PERSON**:
The ideal Supply Chain Planner will have previous experience of working in a similar demand planning/forecasting or stock control role and will be confident and capable of forecasting and managing stock. Exceedingly good communication skills and the abilityto work under pressure in a changeable environment is essential. Good all-round IT skills are required with a particular emphasis on Excel.
