**Job Title: Project Lead**

**Reports To: Scientific Operations Manager**

**About The Role**

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and experienced Project Lead to join our Livingston team.

**Responsibilities**

Main responsibilities will include:

- Lead, direct and co-ordinate delivery of analytical projects
- Conduct scheduling of analyst and instrument utilisation
- Direct communication with Tepnel customers and suppliers
- Co-ordinate and manage external suppliers
- Report task/project status to Tepnel Leadership
- Record keeping and reporting of results
- Troubleshooting analytical problems
- Undertake root cause analysis and define CAPA actions
- Provide training to team members when necessary

In general, ensure all work undertaken meets with the prescribed requirements of the Tepnel Quality System and the requirements of cGMP to the appropriate level of science, quality, regulatory compliance, cost, and delivery.

**About You**
- Chromatography experience is essential (HPLC / GC)
- Experience of Waters Empower CDS is an advantage
- Working knowledge of compendial testing is essential
- Qualified to degree level in Chemistry (or related field)
- Laboratory skills and will have worked independently in a laboratory
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
- Open minded, energetic and determined
- Keen interest in new technologies, systems and methods
- Quick and eager learner
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

**What You’ll Do**

You’ll work in the analysis of samples working to cGMP.

You will also be responsible for aspects of method development and validation when required. Production of working protocols for analytical projects in line with standard ways of working within the business.
- Ensuring all protocols are checked and approved prior to undertaking development/validation exercises.
- Conducting and/or supervising chemical analysis in line with relevant SOP’s/ways of working in the department with a 'right first time’ standard of working.
- Reporting results and conclusions where required in standard format in line with SOP’s/standard ways of working.
- Provide regular updates (or more frequent if required) to Tepnel Leadership and Tepnel’s clients.
- Display a technical competence to be able to assist in client meetings
- Work in a safe manner with H&S of oneself and others in mind.
- Work to a high standard of organisation and cleanliness ensuring workstations are clean and tidy at the end of every working day
- Ensure equipment is maintained and clean and in good working order

General laboratory duties based around the testing of the pharmaceutical raw materials, intermediaries and final products will include:

- Observe and comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and adhere to company policies and procedures as per the Quality Management System (QMS) and the employee handbook
- Work with a Right-First-Time mentality
- Observe and comply with company Health and Safety Policies.
- Conduct all work in, and maintain, the laboratory in a clean, safe and compliant condition
- Production of Risk and COSHH assessments
- Conduct root cause investigations when required

**Your Background**

You’ll have a degree in Chemistry coupled with experience of working within a laboratory setting with excellent attention to detail and good documentation skills. You’ll be able to prioritise your own workload with an innovative "can do" attitude that is quality focused.

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
