**THE ROLE**

A unique opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial and Marketing department at Rangers Football Club as a Commercial Strategy Executive. This dynamic role will place you at the heart of the club’s commercial and marketing department, offering far-reaching exposure, and the opportunity to make a significant and tangible impact on commercial operations.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

The core focus of this role is in supporting the Partnership sales programme. There will be other elements to support the overall Commercial and Marketing Department. This role is suited to a highly motivated strategic thinker looking for their next challenge. Your responsibilities will vary significantly on a week-to-week basis in line with club requirements, but will include elements of the following:

- **Research/Insights**: you will play an active role in supporting our partnership sales programme with the core focus on insight generation (compiling lists of targets to approach, researching and identifying new commercial opportunities); sales material development (aiding partnership team in developing compelling, data-driven sales material; partnership database management (including monitoring and reporting on industry developments); and in partner reporting (delivering timely and accurate reports to our commercial partners).
- **Business Intelligence**: you will lead all commercial reporting activity across the commercial and marketing department. This will require you to work closely with each business unit to understand and explain their operational performance. You will also be responsible for developing and enhancing our visualisation portfolio, which enables key stakeholders to monitor performance in real time.
- **Commercial projects**: you will play an active role in scoping, planning, and delivering a wide variety of major projects across the club. This ranges from an active PMO role - directing and leading specific projects - to more generalised input as a strategic SME.
- **Commercial strategy development and implementation**: you will lead and support on a broad array of strategy development and implementation projects, spanning the full strategic cycle. This requires you to ask the right questions, generate insights, and develop compelling strategic options for the executive team. As such, the role will require both structured and ad-hoc analysis, covering elements such as market and competitor studies; business performance and profitability reviews; and the development of commercial models for major new business proposals.

**THE CANDIDATE**

To be successful in the role, it is essential that you possess most of the following skills:

- **Critical Thinking**: Adept at utilising a hypothesis-based approach to engage logically with complex issues.
- **Problem Solving**: Intellectually curious with the ability to develop creative and compelling solutions.
- **Quantitative Skills**: skilled in data analysis and financial modelling.
- **Comfort with Ambiguity**: Able to operate with uncertainty, using frameworks and intuition to bridge gaps.
- **Communication**: strong communicator with the ability to present compelling narratives to senior audiences.
- **Stakeholder Management**: Able to interact credibly with senior audiences - challenging as appropriate.
- **Excel and PowerPoint**: must have strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, and a natural flair for data visualisation.

The following abilities would be nice to have, but are by no means essential:

- Previous experience in a strategic or consulting role
- Programming Skills - experience in a major programming language with direct applicability to data analysis (for instance, R or Python) would be a distinct advantage.
- Prior experience in a professional sports environment
