We are working with United Learning to find a Facilities Supervisor to take a lead role within the site team at Manchester Academy (M14 4PX). You will work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure a well maintained, safe and secure school site for studentsand staff.

This role would suit someone with good all round maintenance skills, a decent grasp of Microsoft Office and the ability to direct a small team (with support).

**Important Details**:

- Salary is £24,185 - £26,185
- The role is all year round
- One year contract. There may be other opportunities within the Manchester and Salford team following this
- Some flexibility on hours e.g. around the school run
- 37.5 hours a week 08:00-16:00

**Duties of the Facilities Supervisor**:

- Day-to-day responsibility for the site team including organising any rotas
- Full line management responsibility in the absence of the Facilities Manager
- With the Facilities Manager, ensure that site team carry out all compliance checks
- Maintain compliance records and logs
- Liaise with contractors regarding any planned maintenance, repairs and quotations for works requested
- Resume the checking of invoices for approval in liaison with the Business Manager
- Main point of contact for day-to-day PPM
- Undertake aspects of H&S management
- Stock monitoring of standard items
- Raise necessary purchase orders
- Check invoices for approval in liaison with the Facilities Manager
- Be a key holder for the site, opening and securing of the buildings and being a part of the Site Staff Rota
- Respond to security callouts as necessary
- Monitor CCTV cameras and report any incidents, liaising with the alarm/CCTV company
- Working with the other members of the site team to prepare for school events or activities
- Undertake basic repairs and maintenance to the building (joinery, plumbing, painting and grounds maintenance) including the maintenance programme for external sports facilities
- Use the Facilities Helpdesk software to receive, assign and report on any site tasks/requests for work
- Undertake janitorial and emergency cleaning duties as required
- Undertake porterage duties ensuring deliveries are made around school in a timely an efficient manner
- Set up and take down furniture for exams, events, meetings and lettings as required
- Undertake training including First Aid and Fire Marshall
- Undertake duties as a First Aider after appropriate training and on a rota basis
- Attend and participate in meetings as required
- Provide cover for out of hours activities and lettings if necessary

**The Facilities Supervisor Must Have**:

- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English & Maths at Grade C/Level 5 or above
- General maintenance skills to a good "DIY" level.
- Experience of general building maintenance and repairs
- Experience of leading a team and ability to direct and delegate work
- Awareness of Health & Safety regulations appropriate to the role / environment
- Experience of leading a team and ability to direct/delegate work
- Good written & oral communication skills to a wide range of personnel
- Experience of using MS Office
- A methodical approach to tasks with good planning / prioritisation skills
- A good level of general fitness sufficient to work around a large multi-level building
- Ability to work flexibly, and on own and as part of a team

**An Advantage but not Essential**:

- Hold a valid First Aid at Work qualification.
- Evidence of further development in building related services
- Appropriate trade qualification - Plumbing, Electrical, Joinery
- Experience of basic maintenance of heating & ventilation, plant & machinery
- Be able to work outside the usual working hours on occasion.
- An understanding of relevant legislation concerning safeguarding.
