We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced staff member to join our team as a Hysteroscopy co-ordinator. This role provides key support to patients, consultants and wider team and facilitates booking of outpatient appointments for Hysteroscopic procedures. You should have knowledge of Trust systems such as CERNER and the ability to engage with patients on a daily basis to organise their appointments and surgery. You will attend the weekly diagnostic meetings and provide input on clinics. This role requires cross-cover of the Oncology pathway scheduler during leave. You will be based at both St Mary's Hospital and Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea Hospital in order to support the Hysterosocopy clinicians and patients.
- The post holder will be responsible for the set up and coordination of clinics/sessions for thisservice and for processing incoming referrals, ensuring that the service is delivered in acompetent and efficient manner according to protocols and within agreed timescales
- The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that patients pathways are managed in a timelymanner, within access timeframes, ensuring that patients are booked in to relevant clinics andsessions (e.g Theatre) as appropriate with clinical guidance
- The post holder will work closely with the relevant service team, other health professionals andthe Operational Support Manager to ensure that patients are given appropriate appointments andreceive a high quality service
- The post holder will communicate directly with patient’s families/carers; general practitioners andother sources of referral both verbally and in writing with regard to service information
- The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a sensitive and caring attitude that is patient-focused and to maintain a calm and organised approach when working under pressure
- The post holder will be expected to ensure all patients referred by either GPs, internal, or tertiaryservices are seen within appropriate access targets in accordance with both national and localguidelines
