An opportunity has arisen for a Plant Quality Manager to join our Manufacturing team on our new Banbury site. This role will lead and drive the function; developing the Quality capability and team; delivering the factory launch planning and project for Quality (APQP etc); prepare and lead the function to deliver our targets for production start and beyond.

**Job role**:
- Develop and manage the organisation’s quality assurance strategy to support the overall business strategy
- Plan the effective deployment of SQA, Quality Engineer and Quality Technician resource to support the needs of the business
- Manage internal and third-party audit programmes and compliance to certification / standards
- Support the development of PFMEA, control plans and work instructions
- Develop and collate KPI data for management review process
- Develop product quality standards in conjunction with projects and customers
- Manage and drive resolution of customer and supplier quality concerns and improvement activities
- Ensure compliance and sign off of internal manufacturing quality control, tests and activities
- Carry out staff appraisals of all reports and develop action plans to develop staff competence and capability
- The post holder will undertake other duties as may be required to achieve the Company’s objectives, commensurate with the grading of the post
- Promote the use of cross-functional team approach between engineering, purchasing, manufacturing and quality functions in project management problem resolution and continuous improvement
- Develop and implement a robust quality management system to sustain ISO9001 / 14001 / ASpice etc certification into WAE
- Plan and develop a strategy for the business certification of further quality standards as required such as AS9100, TS16949

**You’ll have**:
- HND level or equivalent in either a mechanical or electrical discipline
- Proven track record as a Quality Manager in an automotive OEM, tier one supplier or related business
- Strong practical problem-solving skills with the knowledge and experience to mentor others in the use of disciplined problem solving tools such as 8D
- Experience of practical hands-on manufacturing experience in related industry - likely to be automotive, but complimented by defence / aerospace sectors
- Knowledge and experience of implementing lean methods (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
- IRCA trained Lead auditor, and experienced in planning and leading both internal / external audits and supplier audit programmes
- Experienced in implementing APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
- Experienced in implementing structured problem-solving techniques (8D, Cause and Effect Analysis)
- Knowledge of statistical techniques (MSA, Acceptance Sampling, Process Capability, Statistical Process Control, Gauge R & R, CMM)
- Ability and experience of dealing with supplier and customer representatives at all levels
- Good prioritising, organisation, interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
- Experience of manufacturing and process engineering
- Positive and constructive character and personality is essential with a strong drive to succeed and improve
