Independent Living Co-ordinator

An opportunity has arisen within the Independent Living Team for the right individual to manage a sheltered scheme in Bishops Castle and Clun. We are seeking someone who is experienced, highly motivated, who has excellent communication skills and is a real people person.
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting residents with support needs, the housing management of the scheme as well as promoting and maximising the use of the communal facilities.
As an Independent Living Co-Ordinator, you'll be part of the team, who provide supportive, responsive, effective and flexible housing management and support to customers in Independent Living. You will promote and maximise the independence for older people within a user led environment.
What will be required of you?
- Experience of working with elderly or vulnerable people and arranging or facilitating social activities
- An empathetic approach
- Excellent communication skills
- An ability to deal with challenging situations in a professional manner
- Organisational skills and the ability to re-prioritise as necessary
- Confident decision-making skills
