About the role
The Technical Officer role is in our Carriageway, Footway and Cycleway Team to assist the team in the technical and administration aspects of day-to-day maintenance and management of highways assets. Supporting the delivery of all aspects of planned maintenance - surface treatments, carriageway and footway patching, road markings and signs, you will be a big part of achieving our net zero targets.
What will you be doing?
To support the Carriageway, Footway and Cycleway Team Manager and other managers within Place & Sustainability in delivering the Council and Directorate’s objectives through joined-up service planning, community engagement and the flexible use of resources.
The team will work with wider teams within the Highway Maintenance Group and to ensure a customer focus in the service delivery and ensure benefits are realised for communities in terms of net zero, resilience and sustainability. Working with Community Groups and Partners, dealing with customer correspondence from Parish Councils and members of the public. You will be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written and be able to build relationships with customers, elected members, businesses, partner organisations and other stakeholders.
About you
Being motivated to make a visible difference to our communities and drive forward change to meet our net zero ambition.
The role will initially be on a 2-year fixed term contract. We have a number of Highways Depots across the county, and we can discuss with you which one will be your base.
