**The role**
Due to business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced estimator to join our team. You will be responsible for undertaking bottom up estimates and the management of subcontract packages on multi-discipline engineering projects (MEICA & Civil). You will manage the tenders from start to finish including internal hand overs to the delivery team. Coordinate with our internal design team and external suppliers during this process.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Assist the project planner in developing a tender programme
- Complete a bottom up estimate for the work activities using labour, plant and materials.
- Liaises with our approved suppliers and subcontractors for estimated costs.
- Supply chain management when developing the estimate ensure time scales are met for the tender return.
- Manage design inputs and outputs TQ
/RFI
register back to the client when required
- Liaise with clients to ensure expectations are met in relation to time and costs
- Provide regular updates to frame work lead
- Ensure estimate covers engineering specification in line with Design brief with in tender enquiry.
- Attend site visits when required.
- Complete tender sign off and hand over.
- Manage both internal and external resources when required.
**About you**
Aligned to our ethos and values, will have good knowledge in Water/Wastewater schemes or in a similar industry, this is not essential but preferable that experience is within this element. It goes without saying, you will have excellent communication skills both oral and written, be accurate with a strong focus on attention to detail and thrive in a busy / challenging environment.
Ideally you will;
- Have qualifications within civil engineering, quantity surveying or other relevant field
- Manage your time effectively to meet tender deadlines.
- Demonstrate excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Think innovatively and proactively.
- Possess strong commercial awareness
- Have excellent attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy in tender preparation.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience within the water industry is preferable.
