Payroll Co-ordinator

Blair West is working with a Houghton-based service provider as they look to recruit a Payroll Co-ordinator. In this standalone position, you will have full responsibility for the Payroll function, and report to the Financial Controller.
This role is being offered as either a full or part-time position (4 days per week)
**The opportunity**:
- Process monthly and weekly payrolls for two businesses.
- Calculate and process all statutory payments.
- Generate employee documents, RTI submissions, and pension files.
- Serve as the main point of contact with HMRC for payroll-related matters.
- Address client queries involving income tax, National Insurance (NI), National Minimum Wage (NMW), and more.
- Manage weekly expenses and mileage claims processing.
- Handle end-to-end payroll responsibilities, including Year End and P11D processes.
- Ensure compliance with statutory payroll reporting and filing requirements.
- A minimum of three years of UK Payroll experience (essential).
- Proficiency in MS Office packages, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exposure to MHR iTrent payroll system (beneficial but not essential).
