**Equans is looking for a Business Support Assistant (Planning and Building Control) to join our team in North East Lincolnshire Council, Grimsby on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.**

**General Overview**

The position offers the potential for a post holder to further their career in Planning or Building Control and take on a new challenges.

EQUANS is North East Lincolnshire Council’s long-term Regeneration Partner delivering a number of services on their behalf, including the Planning Service. This role is to provide business support to te Planning Service, to ensure that it delivers a first-class service to its customers and fully contributes to delivering sustainable development and growth in North East Lincolnshire.

The post holder will be required to have previous experience providing business support and have good customer care skills. The role will include the need for the individual to demonstrate continuous improvement in their career development.

**What will you deliver?**:
- To undertake a range of administrative tasks such as:

- Inputting information into the Planning & Building Control databases
- Sending out communication to customers
- Responding to general telephone enquiries
- Processing planning appeal requests
- Producing PowerPoint presentations
- Collating figures for government statistics and KPI’s
- Provides administrative, clerical and word processing support for the development service, proficient with word, excel, power point, outlook, publisher, web-based databases and social media outlets.
- Provide excellent customer service responding to enquiries and requests.
- To ensure that all budgetary and financial matters are carried out in accordance with relevant legislation and procedure.
- Operate within the policies, systems and business plans of the Planning & Building Control Teams and Equans.
- To delivery all works with compliance to Equans Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) standards and policies in line with ISO 45001 (Health & Safety), 14001 (Environmental) & ISO 9001 (Quality).

Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be expected at this level.

**Who are we looking for?**:

- Previous experience of working in an office environment, with frontline customer services experience
- Knowledge and understanding of office systems, routines and processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of the required compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Ability to build effective relationships with customers, colleagues and visitors.
- Ability to plan and organise work.
- Experience and ability to effectively use IT including databases and Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and TEAMs.
- Flexible to meet the needs of the service.
- Adaptable to change and new ways of working.
- Literacy and numeracy skills to minimum of level 2.
