Our International Publishing and Licensing division (IPL) made up of 60 people around the world has a Rights team like no other and is on the lookout for a confident and enthusiastic individual to join them in identifying, developing and maximising sales opportunities for our growing adult and children’s titles in the Northern European markets.

We’re a fun, friendly and very international bunch that presents and sells DK's stunning books to publishers all around the world in more than 60 languages We are always seeking out new opportunities to increase our sales and keep our customers happy, whether that might be in a commercial, editorial or marketing capacity. Working across a range of business models, not only do we license our rights through traditional channels like bookstores and online platforms, we also license our content to newspapers and magazines, work on special sales deals and even engage in overseas joint ventures.

We are seeking a confident and eager Rights Assistant with proven communication skills to provide administrative support to the Asia team.

This entry level role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a wide variety of stunning books, a whole host of people and the chance to understand and learn how to work in a busy international environment.

Responsible for a range of activities, your typical duties will include (but not be limited to):

- Liaising with internal departments (Editorial, Production, Legal, Finance)
- Liaising with our external stakeholders across the Southeast Asian territories (including publishers, retailers, and distributors)
- Tracking titles from the production process through to invoicing
- Drafting contracts
- Sending sales materials and title information to our wide range of clients
- Processing and tracking of export orders
- Running sales reports
- Maintaining forecasting systems and databases

We are looking for someone with a real passion for international publishing, who can work both individually and as part of a supportive close-knit team. Juggling a workload where no two days are the same, it is essential you possess the very best organisational & time management skills, have excellent attention to detail and are comfortable talking to people at all levels.

If you’re the kind of person who can pick up new systems quickly, think on your feet and use your initiative to solve problems whilst maintaining a flexible approach, this could be just the job for you.

Whilst not essential, it would be great if you spoke an Asian language and any previous knowledge of other publishing systems would be an advantage.

The role is based in our London office at Embassy Gardens, although we are currently working a hybrid model with a blend of home and office working. Periodic international travel for business may be required.
