These positions are available for existing civil servants on level transfer or promotion. Secondments and loans will be considered on an individual basis.

**Background and Overview**:
HM Courts and Tribunals Service is responsible for the administration of criminal courts, civil courts, family courts and tribunals in England and Wales working with an independent judiciary to provide a fair, efficient and effective justice system. Currently, HM Courts and Tribunals Service is embarking on a period of significant change which will require strong leadership in this critical role, operating in a culture of openness and honesty.

The Kings’ Bench Division (KB), which includes the Administrative Court Office (ACO) is one of the three divisions of the High Court. The cases most commonly handled are disputes relating to personal injury, clinical negligence, breach of contract, libel and slander, and in the Administrative Court Judicial Review claims. The post holder should have good communication skills, be efficient and is able to prioritise their own work as well as their team’s work. There is one position available in the ACO List Office team and two posts in the KB Issues & Enforcement.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Team Leader**
- To provide a comprehensive and efficient front-line service to Court Users and direct them to the relevant support and other resources related to the management of their claims.
- Handle correspondence, deal with enquiries and assist with controlling workflow; delegating actions to other team members where necessary.
- To develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the relevant Civil Procedure Rules to be able to make decisions on more complex queries.
- Work with others to effectively and efficiently respond to challenging customer queries and complaints.
- To support and facilitate effective working relationships with the judiciary, staff and court users.
- Ensuring governance controls and best practice is in place and adhered to.
- Prepare statistical analysis when required.
- Organise training, populate work rota and manage staff in line with our policies.

**List Officer (Administrative Court Office)**
- Liaison with Judiciary and stakeholders regarding the timely listing of cases.
- To process Limits cases.
- To create the Race card and Divisional Court Diary.
- To accurately draft and circulate the daily Cause List and any updates thereafter.
- To populate the weekly sitting plans for the judiciary.
- Manage the workflow and ensure cases are listed before the right expertise.
- To manage the Deputy High Court Judge bookings and payments.
- Handle correspondence, deal with enquiries and control workflow; delegating actions to other team members where necessary.
- Prepare statistical analysis when required.
- To carry out monthly governance checks and ensure best practice is adhered to.
- To liaise with Judiciary and stakeholders to arrange Court User meetings.
- To be accountable to the Delivery Manager and Operations Manager.

**Essential Skills and Qualifications**:
Relevant computer skills to undertake the level of work required.

Some experience of managing a team

**Other Duties**:
The post holder is required to work in a flexible way and undertake any other duties reasonably requested by line management which are commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.
