Out of Court Diversions Co-Ordinator

Location: Athena House, York

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8:30-17:00 Monday-Friday

**Salary**: Scale 5 £25,758 - £27,690

5 x Full Time, Permanent positions.

We have an exciting new opportunity to join the Criminal Justice Department as a OOCD Coordinator within North Yorkshire Police. The post holder will support the OOCD Sergeant by making decisions and managing a caseload of Out of Court Diversions.

**Main responsibilities will include**:

- Liaising with service providers, victims and offenders with a high degree of autonomy to support the case management process.
- Assess eligibility criteria has been met, with due regard to statutory guidance on evidential and public interest considerations. Make decisions based on procedure and provide challenge to justify where necessary.
- Set conditions and interventions, which can include financial and restrictive measures, that are appropriate and achievable after exploration of the facts from offender, victim and provider and issue such decision to the offender.
- Support knowledge sharing to frontline officers and staff in OOCD processes as required, including through the delivery of presentations to groups of colleagues and knowledge checks to ensure understanding.

**Requirements for success**:

- Excellent organisational skills and proven experience planning and managing own workloads.
- Exceptional and adaptable written and verbal communications skills.
- Encouraging attitude to work, both with internal and external stakeholders.
- Full driving license and ability to travel as required.
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice processes, in particular OOCD and Diversion is desirable however not essential for success.

Additional Information

Successful postholder will be require RV level vetting clearance, which will be undertaken at the point of conditional offer. There may be some requirement to work outside of normal working hours and in other locations within North Yorkshire.
