We are on the lookout for a UX Designer to join our Digital team. As UX Designed you'd help us achieve our mission of making retirement more rewarding for people across the UK by collaborating with our Product Managers and Software Engineers to evolve our existing portfolio of products and helping to shape our newly formed innovation workstream.
You'll work with our customers to understand their business needs by transforming research insights into actionable design hypothesis that can be prototyped and tested and eventually translated into a best-loved, customer-centred experience.
As our UX Designer, you'll actively seek out new ways to do things and will constantly be looking to improve the ways we work. You'll have a passion for exploring new technologies and seeing how these can be used to create value in our product.
**In this role you'll spend your time**:

- Collaborating with Product Managers to identify research areas and design methods to obtain valuable customer insights
- Translating research findings into a refined UX design strategy
- Testing ideas with prototypes and getting customer feedback early and iteratively
- Leading the execution of the UI design and customer experience for our product suite
- Maintaining an organised and prioritised design schedule of work based on our customer and team goals
- Supporting and coaching our software engineers in bringing your designs to life
- Monitoring and assessing product success following release

**A bit about you**
You are obsessed with solving problems. To make sure you fully understand customer needs, you gather and synthesise lots of different types of information and leave no stone unturned getting to the root of the idea. You live and breathe everything design and stay on top of the current trends and events within the field.
You're passionate about collaborating with colleagues and learning about adjacent skill sets to enrich your own experience. You understand what Nucleus' core purpose is and you support our core values and personally demonstrate these.
**We've always placed more importance on cultural contribution above technical ability, but we'd really like you to have**:

- Deep understanding of the design thinking process and experience implementing best design practices within product teams (e.g., prototyping, service design and mapping)
- Experience conducting user research to identify customer problems and workshopping solutions focussed on positive customer outcomes.
- A strong proficiency in design tooling such as Figma, Invision, Adobe Suite
- An impressive design portfolio with examples to showcase your breadth of experience and demonstrate your skills
- Experience working on designing with data and communicating complex messages via engaging UIs
- Experience in partnering with Product Managers to organise value-driven design priorities
- Comfortable designing for native web and mobile apps
- A desire to learn and a natural curiosity for new design methodologies
- Relationship building skills to engage with our customer base and range of internal stakeholders to listen, consult and drive alignment around design proposition
- Familiarity with agile ways of working and frameworks such as scrum

**Here are some additional extras it would be great see in your experience**:

- Exposure to front end development
- Experience working with product analytics tools (e.g., Heap, Google Analytics, Hotjar)
