**UTC Plymouth, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional Designated Safeguarding Lead to join the School as soon as possible.**

**FTE Salary Range**: Grade H, Point 30-34, £36,298 to £40,481 per annum

**Contract Type**: Permanent, full time, 52.14 weeks per year

**Contract Hours**:37 hours per week; Monday to Friday

**About the role**

We are seeking to appoint a professional, well-education and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead. This is a new role and will provide an opportunity for the appointed person to be at the forefront of developing the school’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

An exceptional individual who will be the professional role model for safeguarding and who will have substantial safeguarding experience and in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, procedures and good practice regarding students. The appointee will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team especially the Deputy Head teacher who will line manage this post.

Additional responsibilities include providing advice and support to other staff on child welfare, safeguarding and child protection matters, taking part in strategy discussions and interagency meetings, and/or supporting other staff to do so, and to contributing to the assessment of children.

Reach South is a young and developing Trust which operates across the South West of England with the aim of delivering all through 3-19 education.
