Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience in a related field, the successful applicant will provide support and guidance to our students on a range of welfare areas, including leading on our interruptions to studies service.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is essential for this post.

Applications will also be considered to carry out this role on a part-time or job share basis to the full-time equivalent.

Purpose of the Job

To work aspart of a Student Support team providing advice and support to students acrossa range of welfare areas, working with colleagues from across the University toprovide an integrated approach to supporting our students. This post reports tothe Student Support Manager.

Main

**Responsibilities**:

- To provide information advice and support to students who are considering withdrawing permanently from or temporally suspend/interrupting their studies, ensuring students are aware of the financial implications of leaving or interrupting their studies.- To provide information and advice to staff on pastoral support and related policies and procedures.- To take responsibility for Student Support’s contribution to Welcome Week including the Welcome Week website and the associated liaison with academic schools, Postgraduate Students’ Induction Fair and Home Students’ Induction.- To contribute to the Student Support team’s welfare provision for specific student groups such as students from care, mature students, student parents, and student carers.- To work with colleagues across the University in areas of student welfare and student retention to develop best practice in supporting our students throughout their academic experience.- To attend University and Academic School events and Open Days to present current information on student finance including delivering finance presentations on student financial support.- To ensure published information is accurately maintained in relation to Student Support and interruptions to studies.- To work effectively as part of a team and provide a welcoming, responsive, and professional service to all students.- To forge links with relevant external organisations and other HEIs networking and building relationships to keep abreast of future development within the sector and sharing good practice.- To work in line with a model of support that promotes the independence and resilience of our students to best prepare them for their future study or career goals. To work collaboratively across Student Services and Administration, to ensure effective cross-referrals and promote a holistic approach to student support.- Undertake other duties, appropriate to the grade as required by line management.Other

**Responsibilities**:

- The post holder will be expected to participate in performance review and developmental activities.
