Environmental Cleansing Operative

Overview:
A dedicated Cleansing Operator is required to assist in the high quality delivery of our client's Open Spaces cleansing service.

**Duties**:

- To be responsible for the general cleanliness of an area to include mechanical, hand sweeping and litter collection using a handcart.
- To be responsible for the emptying of litter and dog bins.
- To collect fly tipping.
- Interact with members of the public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Operate a range of tools and machinery in order to successfully carry out day to day operations
- Carry out a range of maintenance operations on Open Spaces street furniture
- Carry out distribution and removal of sandbags as a consequence of inclement weather.

Requirements include:

- Experience of street cleansing operations
- Experience of working under own initiative
- Manual handling experience.
- Knowledge of local government practices and procedures
- A full EU driving licence.
- Possession of a current HGV driving license
- Experience of carpentry /maintenance work.
- The ability to communicate in English is essential.
- The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable.
- Supervisory experience
- Time management skills
- To carry out maintenance work on street furniture, after appropriate training if necessary
- To work on one’s own initiative, sometimes for prolonged periods.
- Ability to communicate politely with Members, other departments and the public sometimes in respect of contentious matters.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 4 months

Pay: £11.98-£14.52 per hour

Work Location: In person
