**Overview**:
**This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary team who will respond to mental health concerns young people and their families may experience, building on support already in place, offering timely assessments and delivering interventions for young people with mild to moderate mental health issues in school.**

You will be based with Oxford Health Foundation Trust, adhering to their operational policies and procedures. However, you will be employed by Buckinghamshire Council, aligning your work to the approaches and interventions delivered by Family Workers and Youth Workers within the Family Support Service.

These posts will suit someone with significant experience in Youth Work and with a strong interest in Mental Health. You will be passionate, motivated and committed to working with other agencies to provide early intervention to young people and their families.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and forward thinking with the skills to work effectively in a multiagency environment.

**About the role**:
Family work is part of the Early Help strategy in Bucks, supporting children and their families to access the right intervention from the right professional at the right time.
Family Workers within the MHST work with families (on a one-to-one basis and within groups) with the aim to deliver better outcomes for children, young people and parents by working closely with partners to identify need, assess and support children, young people and their families in a way that builds resilience and reduces dependency on statutory services.

Our approach is holistic, considering and responding to the needs of young people and their families, providing individual support and group work programmes to enable them to reach their full potential and achieve positive outcomes.

You will be skilled in building effective professional relationships with families and professionals and passionate about making a difference for children and young people.

**About the Service Area**:
Bucks Mental Health Support Team (MHST) supports children and young people who have difficulties with their mental health and emotional wellbeing, including anxiety, low mood and challenges with behaviour, confidence and self-esteem. We provide evidence-based therapeutic support both individually and in groups to young people and parents.

The MHST offers training to school professionals to help them identify mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties in their students. We offer workshops on supporting students in school who are showing anxiety, low mood, self-harm, and other mental health difficulties.
