**Job summary**:

**Job description**:
As a GIS Officer you will provide a geospatial service for Scottish Forestry to achieve the objectives and priorities laid out in our Corporate Plan and the Scottish Forestry Strategy.

**Person specification**:
**Experience**

Essential:

- Wide ranging use of different GIS tools, techniques and data to deliver successful projects
- Track record of successfully working as part of a team
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical information to non-technical audience

Desirable:

- Experience of the creation and update of geospatial data using a variety of digitising techniques
- Awareness and understanding of Earth Observation
- Understanding of forestry, environment and/or land management

**Technical**

Essential:

- Excellent demonstrable use of ESRI’s desktop GIS products
- Management and analysis of large, complex geospatial datasets

Desirable:

- Experience of using ArcGIS Pro
- Experience in Python scripting and/or FME
- Formal qualification in Geographic Information Systems
