**Operations Manager** vacancy for a national distributor of timber, sheet materials and joinery products based from their depot in Reading, Berkshire.

The role comes with a strong starting **salary of up to £48,000** (dependent upon experience), plus company vehicle and national company benefits.

**Operations Manager Role & Responsibilities**:

- Day-to-day site operations, including site safety, fire, and intruder alarms, building maintenance, office, and warehousing facilities, planned works etc
- Transport, including daily drivers debriefing, fuel cards, tacho downloads and monthly vehicle downloads and vehicle defects.
- Running tacho reports, infringements, missing mileage, speeding, PCN's and monthly deductions
- Monthly vehicle reports including FLT's, fuel, repair costs and plant equipment
- Experience in managing an Operations Team in a busy environment.
- Dealing with vehicles defects, repairs, replacement vehicles, insurance claims
- Route planning, and delivery zoning, checking loads, and tracking vehicles to ensure they are following the correct route
- Stock allocation and returns: GRN notes, stock counts and stock write off including discrepancies and investigations
- Management of order picking staff, ensuring correct items picked and loaded, using in house SKU and WMS, keeping IIPs to a minimum.
- Dealing will stock ordering, stock transfers and warehouse housekeeping
- Warehouse and Yard HSE and ongoing training including fire drills, manual handling, and working at height
- GDPR compliance, maintaining ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, FSC, PEFC, FORS Cert
- Budget management, cost control and KPI's monitoring

**Ops Manager Key Skills & Experience**:

- Excellent commitment, leadership and organisational abilities
- Attention to detail and the ability to use initiative to overcome day to day issues
- You will have proven operations management experience, preferably within the construction supply sector
- You will hold a full UK driving license
- Full CPC preferred
- Relevant safety qualification (e.g. IOSH)
- You will have previously worked within a Senior Operations Manager role
