**About the role**:
This dynamic Data Engineering Team Lead role is in the Software Engineering Team within the Technology Delivery team in the ITG Department at HCA UK.
- Plans and drives the development of data engineering solutions, ensuring that solutions balance functional and non-functional requirements for internal/external customers
- Manages the Data Engineering team, setting work packages, priorities, streamlining BAU activities, and other day to day line management duties
- Leads on implementation of data engineering elements of the HCA UK Data Strategy
- Contributes to organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for data engineering
- Developing and implementing plans, policies, and practices that control, protect and optimise the value of data assets
- Devises and implements master data management processes for specific subsets of data
- Provides advice on the transformation of data from one format/medium to another. Maintains and implements information handling procedures

**About you**:

- Experience leading a team within a Data area, managing development and prioritisation
- Understands and communicates industry developments and the role and impact of technology
- BI/Data Engineering background and expert knowledge of on-premise/cloud/hybrid data platforms
- Balances the requirements of proposals with the broader needs of the organisation
- Promotes a learning and growth culture in their area of accountability
- Leads on compliance with relevant legislation and the need for services, products and working practices to provide equal access and equal opportunity to people with diverse abilities
- Identifies and endorses opportunities to adopt new technologies and digital services
- Creatively applies a wide range of innovative and management principles to realise business benefits aligned to the organisational strategy
- Communicates well at all levels across the organisation to both technical and non-technical audiences articulating business objectives
- Takes the initiative to advance own skills and leads the development of skills required in their area of accountability.
