**The Role**:
**Charles River Discovery are excited to be recruiting for a Senior Technical Specialist.**

**You will join our in vitro ADME screening team in our Discovery Sciences division. Based just outside of Cambridge, UK at our Saffron Walden site, individuals would have the opportunity to develop in a fast-paced drug discovery environment.**

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Performance of and troubleshooting a range of ADME assays applied in a rapid turnaround drug discovery screening setting, mainly focusing on: kinetic solubility, microsomal stability, cell permeability.
- Generation of quality scientific data and provision of technical support in the early-stage drug discovery process; contextualising data and making timely decisions to support integrated project teams and external partners.
- Training and mentoring of junior team members to ensure effective team development and a robust succession strategy.
- Development of mid-to-long term CAPEX planning, supporting the introduction and evaluation of new technology.
- Contribute to experimental design, review and continuous scientific improvement processes to increase capabilities and capacity.
- Support multiple project teams and provide expertise to cross-discipline groups across the whole drug discovery spectrum.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Extensive in an ADME / DMPK relatable or ADME / DMPK relevant environment.
- Comprehensive troubleshooting and problem-solving skills both technical and scientific.
- A desire to continually improve existing processes to meet new standards or requirements.
- Scrupulous attention to detail; getting it right the first time and quality control are at the heart of what we do.
- An interest in new technologies and how they can be applied to enhance existing in-vitro ADME assays.
- Demonstrated practical experience of some or all of the following ADME assays applied in a rapid turnaround drug discovery setting: kinetic solubility, microsomal stability, cell permeability.
- Hands on experience of LC-MS/MS quantification of small molecules in complex matrices in a drug discovery setting.
- Operation of analytical MS systems including Waters, Agilent and ADDA-Sciex HTMS instruments.
- Experience of liquid handlers such as the Hamilton STAR.
- Strong organisation and time management skills alongside an inbuilt flexibility to adapt to change in a dynamic working environment.
- Excellent communication skills and to be an effective team player, able to collaborate with internal and external colleagues.
