**Your new company**
A large, central government organisation is looking for an experienced User Researcher to join their Data team
**Your new role**
The Global Supply Chain Intelligence Pilot will test the value of combining several government and external data sets, along with big data analytics, to map global supply chains. Participants across government will use real-time visibility and insights to betterunderstand their supply chains, recognise and harness opportunities, and proactively mitigate risks.
- Planning, designing and preparing a range of user research activities to support the design, development and continuous improvement of services
- Carrying out user research activities from recruiting participants and preparing discussion guides, to moderating user testing sessions
- Analysing research data to synthesise clear and actionable findings, and working closely with analytics colleagues to create a rich picture of user behaviour
- Confidently explaining user needs to colleagues, and acting as a persuasive advocate for those needs both within the team and the organisation at large
- Shaping research to facilitate delivery at pace, with a commitment to agile and continuous iterative development
- Working closely with product managers, designers and developers to turn user research findings into actions that lead to valuable products and services
- Completing literature reviews and other desk research to build and reinforce delivery teams' understanding of their problem space and user group(s)
- Contributing to the User Research community, and promoting user centred design principles and best practice within government

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Ability to present research findings in compelling and innovative ways, making recommendations based on sound analysis, in line with the government Service Standard
- Ability to make recommendations to senior stakeholders in an accessible and engaging way
- Ability to advocate proactively for the user, and to communicate the value of user-centred design principles to colleagues outside of Digital or Agile contexts
- Experience of working with colleagues to plan and do continuous user research in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of working in sensitive project spaces, and security clearance to do so (or eligibility for security clearance)
