NEDDC are recruiting for a Senior Scrutiny Officer to join our team.

**The Role**

We are seeking an enthusiastic person with excellent communication skills to join our small but perfectly formed Governance team.

Whilst Local Authority experience is essential, we welcome applicants who have relevant skills and experience obtained through the private or public sector as well as the Local Authority experience.

Guiding the Council’s Scrutiny Committees through their work will cover a wide range of matters from involvement in the development and monitoring of the Council’s evolving Council Plan to Policy Development and Performance monitoring. All with the aim of improving the Council’s performance. As part of the in house Governance team you will have the opportunity to help to shape the future for North East Derbyshire District Council’s Scrutiny work.

**About you**

We are looking for fresh thinking and enthusiastic individuals who have a team player approach, in providing a high quality Scrutiny role.

Preference will be given to you if you have extensive experience of supporting and delivering the Overview and Scrutiny function within local government, reliable judgment, and an excellent track record of dealing with Members.
