We are representing a leading manufacturer in the UK that is seeking a skilled Regulatory Compliance Officer to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  1. To communicate organisational policy to interested parties and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  2. Promote a culture of compliance and business best practice across the organisation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  3. To provide hands-on support to internal service and production department personnel, addressing their queries and concerns regarding regulatory compliance.
  4. To ensure a visual and accessible presence, liaising with all internal teams to guarantee H&S compliance, maintaining accurate records and documentation as required.
  5. To work closely with external 'compliance resource' for accreditation and certification, ensuring our products meet industry standards.
  6. Undertake management system review audits against a range of standards for ensuring continued compliance and performance effectiveness, including: ISO 9001 quality management system, BS 1090 / ISO 3834 - factory production control, ISO 27001 information security, ISO 14001 environmental management, ISO 45001 health and safety management, ISO 45501 (self-verification), ISO 17025 - laboratory calibration.
  7. To organise and chair 'management review meetings', facilitating open discussion and decision-making among senior stakeholders.
  8. To arrange and chair 'health and safety' meetings, communicating incidents and taking minutes, promoting a proactive approach to risk management.
  9. To own and administer the CAR (Corrective Action Report) process, coordinating efforts between internal personnel, customers or suppliers to address non-conformities and prevent future occurrences.
  10. To maintain up-to-date risk assessments and method statements, ensuring critical processes are well-defined and executed according to established protocols.
  11. To manage approved supplier files for contractors, guaranteeing adherence to contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
  12. To perform final quality inspection of new goods prior to delivery, verifying product conformity to specified standards.
  13. To schedule and conduct site audits / post-installation spot checks, evaluating our operations against regulatory expectations.
  14. To oversee maintenance of master 'product' drawings and technical files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  15. To arrange and maintain 'coded welder' documentation, tracking certifications and continuing professional development.
  16. To be responsible for the upkeep of lifting equipment (cranes, jacks, chains, slings, hoists etc.), ensuring regular inspections and preventative maintenance are conducted.
  17. To secure external insurance certification for production plant and allied equipment, safeguarding our assets and reputation.
  18. To maintain and control test weight registers, including associated weight and other equipment calibration records.
  19. To preserve inspection and supporting documentation for building security, fire alarm, and fire extinguishers, ensuring readiness for regulatory scrutiny.

Requirements:

  • You should possess a thorough understanding of Health, Safety, and Compliance principles.
  • Be able to multi-task, prioritise, and meet tight deadlines while managing competing demands.
  • Demonstrate ability to comprehend complex issues, weighing priorities against organisational and operational objectives.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and through report writing, at all levels within the organisation and with customers/suppliers.
  • Bring a positive and collaborative attitude to contribute to members of the team.
  • Hold experience and a track record of compliance against at least two of the aforementioned ISO standard requirements.
  • Show an engineering bias from a Health & Safety manufacturing and/or service sector environment.
  • Have a practical grasp of conformity assessment and certification, including experience in internal auditing.
  • Acknowledge working experience of health & safety standards.
  • Have a solid foundation of quality standards.
  • Familiarity with environmental standards is advantageous.
  • Excel in administrative and IT skills, being proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly SharePoint.

Salary Range: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum.
