**Hope House Children’s Hospices **have an opportunity for a **Communications Officer** to join our team based in **Oswestry. **You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, although part-time working of 30 hours per week will be considered. In return, our Communications Officer will receive a competitive rate of **£26,930 - £33,599 per annum**.

Hope House Children’s Hospices provide vital care and support to local children living with life-threatening conditions, and their families.

**About the Communications Officer** **role**:
Our small and busy Communications Team harnesses the power of stories to engage and inform people across the region about the importance of the hospices, the vital services we provide for children and families, and our need to raise £7.5 million every year to fund our work.

Our next **Communications Officer** will be a talented and skilled journalist with a strong work ethic and boundless energy, who is eager to get out on the roads across Wrexham, Shropshire and Powys meeting our incredible donors, volunteers, shop staff and fundraisers. You’ll have the marketing vision to share the stories you gather in a targeted way that best benefits Hope House Children’s Hospices, through mainstream media, hyperlocals and social media.

A skilled storyteller, with evidence to demonstrate your writing and photographic ability, you’ll be able to dig out your own content and turn around multiple stories at the same time in a fast-pace environment. You’ll be organised, unflappable, excellent at prioritising and hitting deadlines, and a real ambassador for our charity when meeting and interviewing people.

**What we are looking for a Communications Officer** **who**:

- Has the energy and drive to identify, capture and place a constant flow of stories to engage and inspire new and existing audiences in Wrexham, Shropshire and Powys.
- Has great contacts in the regional media and is also happy to explore new avenues such as hyper-locals and social media platforms to ensure every story reaches its optimum audience.
- Understands that we are passionate about helping our colleagues at Hope House Children’s Hospices ensure that no one faces the death of a child alone. This is more than a job - it is a position of privilege and an opportunity to use your skills to benefit incredible children and families.
