Our client is an established company based in Milton Keynes who are are seeking a purchasing assistant, who would be responsible for the day to day purchasing of equipment, goods, and services.

**Duties**
- To create purchase orders as per business requirements, in line with procurement policies, and send to suppliers.
- To check purchase order acknowledgements to ensure orders will be fulfilled to our requirements, highlighting any discrepancies.
- To expedite deliveries, ensuring delivery will be as per promised dates.
- To liaise closely and efficiently with service centre teams to communicate delivery status of purchase orders.
- To work closely with suppliers to reduce cost and improve delivery performance.
- To undertake relevant administrative duties as necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the procurement team.
- To ensure price information maintained accurately and in a timely manner.
- To assist the Supply Chain Manager with supply chain performance reporting by providing data as and when required.
- To provide cover for other Purchasing Assistants as required.
- To ensure that the company procurement policies and procedures are complied with

**Person Specification**
- Minimum education to GCSE level
- Previous experience within procurement / Supply chain
- Excel experience
- Understanding of Supply chain systems
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational skill
- Manage own workload
- Excellent verbal and written skills
