**About the role**

You will be working with students with complex needs within this primary school. Students here would usually need to attend a special school, and most transfer to one at the end of year 6. There are 2 classes within the provision, one for students in Reception,Year 1 and 2 and the second class for students in Years 3,4, 5 and 6. There is a maximum of 8 students in each class and they both have a specialist class teacher and Learning Support Assistants. The work day is from 8.30am when you will have briefing andprep for the day, with students arriving by bus at 9am to 3pm, followed by end of day clean up and debrief till 3.45pm and any necessary training. The school uses a number of training strategies to support students with complex needs including TEACCH, PECS,Makaton, ABA and Team Teach so individuals with experience in any of these are highly desirable as applicant for the role. You will help to support students in and out of lessons, modelling positive behaviours, carrying out interventions where necessary andencouraging positive social interaction with peers.

**About the school**

This is the only school in Ealing of it's kind. Based in Southall, this mixed mainstream school has a dedicated resource provision for students with Severe Learning Difficulties and Complex needs. These may include needs such as severe Autism, Cerebral Palsy,Down Syndrome, Wheelchair bound students and those with complex medical needs such as needing to be peg fed, hoisted and require personal care. Depending on individual needs each pupil has access to either Semi-formal, Formal or Non[1]Formal Curriculum. Muchemphasis is put on ensuring a bespoke approach which provides a balance between life and academic skills, promotes independence and prepares each pupil for adulthood.
