**Supplier Assurance Technologist**

Campbells Prime Meat is the leading supplier of meat, fish, poultry and delicatessen products to the foodservice industry in Scotland. We produce and supply a wide range of products from French cheeses to our own produced smoked salmon, operating from a modern food factory based in Linlithgow. We are a progressive independent business which can trace its roots from over a 100 years ago. We supply some of the best and well respected food service sites throughout Scotland.

We have a strong, knowledgeable, and friendly technical team which we are looking to strengthen with a Supplier Assurance Technologist. This role is key for our business to ensure that we continue to have up to date technical approval of our suppliers and their specifications.

This role will be varied and interesting with the role holder able to make a real difference to our business by shaping the future of our supplier quality assurance scheme.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Technical Manager, key responsibilities include;
- Planning and maintaining the ongoing technical approval and review of current suppliers and supplier specifications
- Approval of new suppliers and their product specifications
- Maintenance of supplier information within technical databases
- Review the supplier quality assurance and specification system to ensure it meets the needs of the business in line with current legislation
- Request and collate information from suppliers to fulfil customer information requests such as sustainability information
- Liaise with suppliers regarding any performance issues and product non-conformances.
- Work closely with other members of the technical team and with a number of other departments within the business including purchasing, production and sales
- Reliable, committed and well organised
- Able to prioritise and manage own workload to meet deadlines
- Able to work as part of a team with a keen interest in food safety and food quality
- Previous experience within a similar industry and role working with supplier and specification approval would be advantageous
- A working knowledge of HACCP, TACCP and VACCP systems would be desirable

**Hours of Work**

Monday to Friday 37.5 hours. Salary negotiable, depending on experience. Please note that own transport is required, due to our location.

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£27,500.00 per year
