Assistant Practitioner

North Walsham, United Kingdom Norfolk County Council Full time

**Permanent contract | £29,269 to £31,364 per annum (Scale G) | 37 hours per week | Rebecca House, North Walsham - Northern Locality Team 2
**Supported Assistant Practitioner : £26,421 to £28,770 per annum (Scale F)**

We are looking for enthusiastic Assistant Practitioner to join our Northern Locality Adult Community Care Team, of Practice Consultants, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Assistant Practitioners.

We are located in the beautiful area of North Norfolk with 45 miles of stunning coastline, Blue Flag beaches, the unique Deep History Coast and breath-taking countryside.

North Walsham and Fakenham are Norfolk Market Towns, keeping the traditional weekly market alive, alongside numerous small independent businesses, cafes, high street names and multiple supermarkets. They have a range of nurseries, schools and colleges with good and outstanding Ofsted reports, new housing developments and sporting and social facilities.

Both towns have excellent bus networks into Norwich, and North Walsham has the additional value of being on the Sheringham to Norwich railway line. Norwich even has its own International Airport - a short hop to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol enables you to travel the world

We have embraced the Living Well approach and have embedded the value of individuals strengths, family and community support, to enable people to remain as independent and resilient as possible. This is ongoing work - to develop strong community links as well as maintaining the relationships with our ‘traditional’ service providers of care agencies, day centre providers, and residential and nursing homes.

We are looking to recruit someone on a full-time or part-time basis, who is committed to working with our service user group of people over 65 years and younger adults with Physical Disabilities, to support and enable the best possible life outcomes. You will have good listening skills, be flexible and adaptable to new ways of working and be committed to supporting people to maintain their independence in their own homes.

Our offices are co-located with our health colleagues, enabling a mutually supportive MDT approach to working with the people of North Norfolk. We have strong links with our GP surgeries and multi-agency teams who work across the locality. Working during the pandemic has also resulted in taking a more virtual approach and we have excellent digital resources to support this.

We offer a warm welcome, modern office environment, flexible working hours, the ability to work remotely, regular professional supervision and annual professional development focus, as well as access to regular training opportunities.

These are some benefits you can enjoy by working for Norfolk County Council:

- Competitive salary
- Generous holiday entitlement with the ability to buy and sell leave
- Health and Wellbeing services including fast-track physiotherapy and a free counselling service
- Flexible working opportunities including flexi-time, part time, remote and hybrid working - dependant on your job role and business need.
- Financial benefits such as:

- ‘ Norfolk Rewards’ our employee discounts programme which helps you save money on almost anything, from everyday groceries and clothes, to holidays, new technology, gym membership, trips to the cinema and days out.
- A Blue Light card for Fire Service and Social Care Workers
- Relocation expenses paid upfront (where applicable)
- An advance of your expenses if you travel for work
- Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution, life assurance, death in service payments and dependants’ pensions.
- A payment if you refer someone you know to a hard to fill job. Tax efficient ways of getting extra pension, new bikes and electric cars.

Depending on your skills and experience, you may be offered the post of **Supported Assistant Practitioner **(Grade F) **and you would be expected to complete our ‘ **Assistant Practitioner development programme’ **in an agreed timescale. The programme objective is to support you to learn your role, develop your knowledge and skills further.
