An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Nutrition and Dietetic Service at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust for the appointment of a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner.

This post will bepart ofa newly created teamwithin the acuteDietetic Service to support a Trustwide workforce transformation program. You will be contributing to the development of a new training package which you will then help to deliver to ward based staff across the Trust. In depth training and support at ward level will help to embed this program and promote the importance of nutritional screening and implementation of nutrition care plans.

You will work independently as part of the Nutrition and Dietetic team under the guidance of the registered dietitians and lead Nutrition Nurse specialist, assisting qualified staff clinically and administratively to ensure a quality service is provided after a period of competency based learning.

This post will require you to manage, without direct supervision, your own caseload of less complex patients as triaged by the supervising dietitians and to supervise the band 3 Dietetic Assistant post within the team.
