**Job summary**:
The post sits within the Intelligence Team, which is part of the Investigation and Enforcement Services Directorate. The team provides Intelligence support to both civil and criminal investigation teams and also to the wider Agency. Team members are located across the country.

The team develops analysis and intelligence which contributes to the strategic direction and operational delivery of the agency.

**Job description**:
The role will require you to lead from the front, managing and undertaking development work on larger intelligence development projects, together with taking on role(s) as a Single Point of Contact (“SPoC”) for the Agency.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead the Intelligence Team in delivering a full Intelligence service to the Agency and its partner agencies across Government in support of the Agency’s 5-year strategy.
- Support the team and wider agency in providing technical, operational and strategic advice on intelligence development work
- Line management of a team of Intelligence Officers.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Agency.
- Undertake high-level intelligence development work and liaison where appropriate.

The demands upon the post can be unpredictable and the incumbent will need to be flexible. Travel within the UK is sometimes required and could involve overnight stays. Initial training will take place in Cannon House, Birmingham and physical attendance at the specified location will be expected.

**Person specification**:
We are seeking someone with a proven track record in intelligence and investigation which ideally should have been gained with a Government Department/Agency, Police service or similar organisation.

A well-developed ability to assimilate technical matters and excellent written and oral communication skills is key, with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels of seniority both within and outside the Agency.

You will have an inquisitive mind who isn't afraid to challenge. You will be required to work collaboratively and positively with both internal and external stakeholders and should therefore have excellent communication skills. You will have a keen eye for detail and have a tenacious approach to your work.
