UCA is looking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on a 3 year term to support the development of the core research and knowledge exchange (KE) activities of The Centre for Sustainable Design ®. CfSD’s core research and KE activities relate to increasing understanding of products, innovation and design/development, and sustainability (and particularly circular economy). Specific topics focused on include: Product Circularity; Circularity and cricket gear; Policy developments related to sustainability and fashion/clothing sectors; Repair cafes; and Sustainability and Createch.

UCA is Europe’s 2nd largest provider to graduates to the creative industries in Europe. UCA’s mission is foster leading-edge teaching and research related to creativity, business and technology in creative industries and the arts. UCA has a strong base in practice-based research and is developing KE and Innovation alongside this strength.

The Centre for Sustainable Design ® (CfSD) was founded in 1995 and is based within UCA’s Research & Innovation (R&I) Department. It is affiliated to the UCA Business School for the Creative Industries (BSCI, founded 2018) but works across other Schools at UCA, including the new School of Games and Creative Technology. CfSD developed an international reputation related to its research and KE activities covering business and policy making aspects of sustainability (and circularity) particularly related to products. CfSD works on projects locally, regionally, nationally and across the globe with industry, academia, policy-makers and civil society.

This role could be based at Epsom or Farnham.
