**Your new role: A**s part of the safeguarding team, the Safeguarding Co-Ordinator will ensure Doctor Care Anywhere is providing safe, high quality safeguarding care. The postholder will be responsible for supporting the delivery and management of the organisation-wide safeguarding responsibilities.

Further duties include supporting in the development and implementation of the safeguarding plan for Doctor Care Anywhere and be a key contributor in the continual development and effective implementation of comprehensive and robust systems and processes for the protection of vulnerable adults and children.

**This role is a part-time position between either 3 or 4 days - Salary £37,000 FTE**

**Requirements**:

- Support the Safeguarding Lead and Safeguarding Deputy Lead in
- Meeting the CQC safeguarding standards as outlined in the RCN intercollegiate documents and CQC regulations
- Development and delivery of the organisations safeguarding agenda ensuring that quality is embedded within all safeguarding activity undertaken across the organisation
- Support in service delivery related to the safeguarding services
- Support staff to raise safeguarding concerns and refer appropriately as per patients’ individual needs with a holistic approach and as part of best practice guidance.
- Review the information sent by DCA clinical and non-clinical members of staff via MEG and complete referrals to external agencies, as appropriate, using this information.
- Ensure that referrals are completed in a timely manner, following DCA policies and protocols
- Support the Deputy Safeguarding Lead in the processing and follow-up of Safeguarding referrals, as needed
- Liaise and develop good working relationships with external organisations and agencies on matters relating to the safeguarding of children and adults
- Promote good practice and effective communication.
- Ensuring issues relating to information sharing and confidentiality are addressed.
- Support the Safeguarding Lead, Safeguarding Deputy Lead and Clinical Director for Safeguarding to ensure that staff are familiar with our safeguarding policies and procedures and that these are followed once potential or actual concerns are identified.
- Undertake as requested other activities that may be outside of your area of focus but contribute to the overall success of DCA, and always within your scope of professional practice
- Maintain own continuing professional development and knowledge of relevant clinical guidelines and standards

**Training**
- NMC or HCPC Registered Healthcare Professional
- At least degree level qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Safeguarding Adults and Children, and Mental Capacity Act training to at least level 3

**Experience**
- 3 years post qualifying work experience
- Experience of working within a multi-agency setting
- Clinical experience relating to safeguarding
- Experience of dealing with highly complex, sensitive, and difficult situations
- Experience of using communication skills to influence and negotiate with a wide range staff at all levels

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge and understanding of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Safeguarding Children agendas
- Knowledge & understanding of Mental Capacity Act.
- Knowledge of national policy/research and legislation relating to the safeguarding agenda
- Keen understanding cultural differences and their relation to practice
- Well rounded understanding of social care organisations and their functions
- Ability to ensure patient and staff confidentiality is always maintained

**Skills**
- Able to effectively communicate complex information to various audiences
- Demonstrate the ability to be a strong advocate for the welfare, protection, and rights of adults at risk
- Ability to work in a flexible manner using own initiative whilst balancing priorities to meet deadlines and team objectives
- Ability to work and communicate effectively within a multidisciplina
