Our manufacturing client based in Banbury has been operating for over 75 years and is well known as a market leader in their industry. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to acquire the services of an experienced Purchasing Administrator to join their team. This role will include providing comprehensive and effective supplier management for the UK operation. The role will encompass purchasing and stock management, with some assistance in the analysis of forecasting, and the responsibility for supplier estimating and quotation processes relevant to bespoke customer enquiries. This post demands a high level of IT literacy, sound analytical skills, and a professional and considerate approach at all times upholding the Company’s ethos and values. The post requires an individual who is highly organised, has the ability to structure and prioritise their own work, understands the priorities of others, and has the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the accounting implications of stock integrity to the business.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Build excellent relationships through high-level communication with all external suppliers, local and intercompany, in order to obtain the most quality-cost ratio supply of goods
- Maintain the company’s purchase of raw materials and finished goods using the company’s ERP system
- Always be mindful of maintaining stock at optimum levels to avoid overstocking and stock-outs, using DIOH measurements
- Source and purchase consumables for all departments as and when requested
- Source special articles/material to fulfill singular customer project needs, liaising closely with the Technical and Sales Teams
- Liaise with H&S Department to ensure compliance with purchased items where necessary
- Follow procedures for completing Capital Expenditure purchases as and when required/requested
- Liaise with internal departments and suppliers to resolve issues e.g. delivery discrepancies, invoice queries, quality issues, etc.
- Liaise with suppliers and freight forwarders to arrange smooth importation of any goods purchased from abroad, including completing/arranging import documentation
- Carry out any other duties, as required, by the Management Team
- The Sourcing and Procurement Lead will provide a PDP (Personal Development Plan) over 3 stages throughout the year, via an online platform.
**Key Skills and Experience**:
- Experience within a purchasing role ideally within manufacturing
- Critical thinking and negotiation skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and conscientious approach to activities
- Ability to work well within a team
- Exceptional IT skills including Word and Excel.
**Additional Information**:
- This is a full-time permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with hybrid working available after the probation period.
