**Job description**

We are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing individual to join our team as a Trainee Assistive Technology Trainer. Working primarily across Yorkshire and the Humber, you will be working in a diverse role training neurodiverse students and students with disabilities in the use of Specialist Assistive Technology software. The delivery of this training will be split between remote online sessions and face to face, meaning you will be working from home, from one of our offices or in the student’s own home.

We provide you with all the training you need to assist students in Higher Education to achieve academic success

A relatable, lively personality and the ability to easily connect and build rapport with others, whilst making training fun and engaging for our clients, is far more important to us than IT skills.

**Training program**

The successful applicant will be supported by peers prior to training students independently. This will set you up with all the skills and knowledge you will need to really excel and deliver great quality training. Our experienced Trainers will guide and support you through every step of this process.

**Main Duties**
- Undertake one-to-one Assistive Technology training sessions.
- Deliver engaging, strategy-based sessions.
- Travel to the student’s home or other chosen location.
- Maintain records and files and at all times act with absolute integrity and confidentiality.
- Respond to queries from students.
- Be conversant with and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Undertake other assigned duties temporarily or on a continuing basis as may be required to further the objectives of the company.
- To fully participate in a team working in the interests of students with disabilities and for the benefit of the whole organisation.

**Essential requirements**
- Outgoing and enthusiastic personality with a strong desire to learn.
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
- A full clean UK driving licence.
- Use of own car.
- An interest in technology.
- A real commitment to promoting equal opportunity in education.
- Willingness to undertake a thorough training schedule and be closely monitored within a small organisation.
- A degree or relevant undergraduate qualification.

**Desirable requirements**
- Experience of working with people with specific learning difficulties and disabilities.
- Experience of working with students in higher education.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies for people with specific learning difficulties and disabilities.

**Conditions of Service and benefits**

Probationary Period - The probationary period is 6 months.

DBS Disclosure - A current DBS Disclosure is essential. To be discussed at interview.

Mileage - Mileage is paid at a rate of 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles before dropping to 25p per mile thereafter.

Hours - Normal office hours for a 37 hour week are 8:30 - 5:00 Mon - Thurs, 8:30 - 4:30 Fri. However some evening and/or weekend work may be necessary and travel times will affect working hours.

PENSION - The company operates a contributory pension scheme in accordance with current legislation.

LEAVE - 28 days plus additional days over the Christmas period.

Pay: £23,000.00 per year
