This position is based on a shift pattern of week on week off (days and nights). Due to the nature of this role, you must either live within 1 hr travelling distance from Dover or be willing to stay locally in the company-provided accommodation.

**Responsibilities**
- You will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of the vessels.
- Provide assistance and support to the Master at all times, particularly whilst at sea, along with assisting the Master with the supervision, training, health and safety of the crew.
- Maintain a relevant, valid certification of competency and fitness
- Collaborate closely with the Tug Master and fellow crew members to ensure a culture of teamwork and innovation is maintained while upholding the highest standards of safety

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Minimum of STCW II/3 OOW unlimited
- Previous experience as a Tug Mate or similar position in the maritime industry
- Valid ENG 1 certificate
- Proficient understanding of navigation, vessel handling, and towing operations
- Good Knowledge of the ISM code
- Understanding of Health and Safety as applicable to Merchant Shipping
- General sea-going experience as a watchkeeping officer
- Experience operating Azimuthing Stern Drive tugs (desirable)
- Has the desire to progress into a Tug Master role
