A vacancy has arisen for a Mechanical Craftsman within the Mechanical Engineering team at Heidelberg material, Ketton plant
This position's prime objective is to improve on equipment reliability by carrying out Preventive and corrective maintenance on the plant in line with the Heidelberg Materials Maintenance Improvement Plan.
The knowledge of cement manufacturing or heavy engineering would be advantageous. Experience with Packing plant equipment is also considered.
The primary responsibility of the role is to carry out Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance on mechanical equipment.
The individual must have experience in the following areas:
- Time served apprentice at NVQ level 3 mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 3 years experience working in the heavy industry
- Welding or fabrication qualifications is preferred but not required
- Hydraulics and Pneumatics
- Welding and fabrication
- Mechanical fitting - such as bearing installation, gearbox and motor alignment, drive couplings
- Material transport systems - such as conveyor belts, chain conveyors, elevators and pneumatic conveying
- Working on large cement plant equipment - such as vertical roller mills, ball mills, kilns
- Packing machinery
- Bulk storage and material handling equipment
- Dust plants
The individual must work to the Heidelberg safety procedures and policy's.
