A vacancy has arisen at the Curnow School covering clerical duties for West Team within the Children’s Community Therapy Service.

This specialist team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and dietitians provides treatment for children from birth to 18 years who have neurodevelopmental delay or disabilities.

The post holder will demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work. The need for accuracy and attention to detail is an essential requirement for this post.

There may be occasion to support the cover of reception at Dolphin House Children's Hub at Royal Cornwall Hospital site.

There is no line management responsibility for this role. It is essential to work as part of the Children’s Community Therapy Team, the Community Child Health Team and education providers.

To assist clinicians with daily activity data input on to electronic system.

To place orders on the Cornwall Equipment Loan Store electronic system.

To assist with ordering supplies via Eros system.

To provide support to the Children’s Community Therapy Service secretary.

To support initiatives to improve attendance rates at therapy appointments

To be a contact for the service for service users, and to pass on information in an accurate and timely manner to therapists.

To assist with filing of treatment records

To work on own initiative, with supervision.

Accurate, timely data entry on to ICS and other electronic systems.

Place orders on the Cornwall Equipment Loan Store electronic system

Input information on to existing databases.

The post holder will be responsible for CCTS filing and file management.

Under the supervision of the CCTS secretary the post holder will be expected to assist in entering and updating data on the team’s database, as well as updating information on the Child Health computer system.

Assisting staff within the Children’s Community Therapy Service with answering the telephones, taking appropriate messages, meeting and greeting families and other professionals, postal duties and photocopying/ faxing.

Contribute to keeping therapy areas and therapy offices tidy and safe environments for children, families and staff.

To ensure the security, confidentiality is maintained in line with Trust Policy

Attendance at annual mandatory training and adherence to Trust Policy including health & safety and manual handling legislation.

Participation in audit as required.

Ability to concentrate and to prioritise work with frequent unplanned interruptions.

When requested to be able to accurately record minutes of meetings.
