Job description

**Job Purpose**:To be responsible as part of a team the provision of an Information and Advice service for the older people of the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.

**Duties**:

- To deliver information and advice to older people and their families or carers, by:
receiving and responding to individual enquiries made by telephone or in person.

researching, if necessary, to find information to meet the client's need.

providing an appropriate verbal or written response to the enquiry, including information on to other relevant agencies.

undertake casework on client’s behalf
- To maintain and update the information resources of Age UK Hammersmith & Fulham by:
ensuring that leaflets and other paper information is up-to-date and available at all information outlets.

organising and indexing the information so that it may be accessed by all staff and volunteers.

maintaining an awareness of current local and national issues affecting older people, and if necessary, obtaining new information to add to the resources
- To support staff and volunteers in providing a consistent high quality information service by:
providing regular training and guidance on information enquiries.

providing information, support and guidance to volunteers and staff, as required, on information enquiries and on the information service.

attending and contributing to Age UK Hammersmith & Fulham team meetings.
- To monitor and report on the Information Service by:
ensuring that all enquiries and their responses are recorded in accordance with procedures.

collecting and recording quarterly statistics on enquiries.

providing reports and statistics on the service to senior management.

contribute to the development of IT systems for statistics collection and reporting.

represent Age UK Hammersmith & Fulham at meetings and other events as directed by your line manager.

undertake other duties appropriate to this role as directed by your line manager.
