An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to work as a Counsellor within the Trauma informed Staff Support Service at Liverpool Women’s Hospital (LWH).

Reporting into the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, you will hold a diploma from an accredited training provider and associated accreditation with the BACP.

The successful post holder will work as part of a team, which has developed an excellent service to support the health and wellbeing needs of staff working for the trust.

You will be expected to manage your own caseload, negotiate client contracts and demonstrate your experience of evidence-based practice to enhance your work. In order to fit with the demands of this role and the needs of the service, you will be able to adapt to change, work proactively and reactively in a flexible manner and work well as part of a team.

The successful applicant will work within the newly developed staff support service to provide comprehensive assessment for suitability for counselling and providing one to one counselling support. The post holder will attend MDT meetings and you will be required to work alongside, and in partnership with other healthcare professionals. This role requires a high degree of autonomous working, and the applicant will be required to meet regularly with the Clinical lead.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be adaptable and able to work flexibly. You will receive regular management supervision from the Consultant Clinical Psychologist. We can offer flexible working arrangements and encourage and support continued professional development. The post holder will receive clinical supervision and work within professional guidelines and within the overall framework of the Trusts policies and procedures.
